Bloomington Watercolor Society Meeting & Program

Zentangles: Anything is Possible, One Stroke at a Time!!

After a short business meeting on February 11, BWS members Linda Meyer-Wright, Jerome Harste, and Carla Hedges will introduce Zentangles. As a decorative art in its own right, the Zentangle method of design is used by many watercolor artists.” Zentangle is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. To see some zentangles, browse to Pinterest at http://pinterest.com and search “zentangles.”

During our program, the presenters will use trading cards to demonstrate a particular zentangle form as well as share a bibliography of books they have used for getting ideas and art work they have created. After practicing making zentangles on the trading cards, members will be invited to create a Valentine greeting card using watercolor paints and zentangles. Members should bring a small watercolor set as well as a black fine-tipped pen. While a Micron 05 is best, available at Hobby Lobby and other art stories, any fine-tipped pen will do. Blank trading cards and greeting cards will be provided. If you have zentangled something, please bring it along to share.
