Classical Pianist John Urban to Perform in Brown County
John Urban was first seen performing in Brown County at the Fine Arts Music Series this past summer. His talents were beyond belief and the passion with which he played has never been forgotten by many witnessing his performance that evening.
Recently John earned his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University, where he studied with Ludmila Lazar. He has also completed summer study at the Aspen Music Festival and School with Gabriel Chodos, and as a private student of renowned Hungarian pianist Livia Rev in Paris. He has performed in festivals including the Gijon (Spain) International Piano Festival. In Chicago, John has performed at Frank Lloyd Wright's Unity Temple, the Driehaus Museum, and at Symphony Center, home to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In addition to live performance there he has been heard multiple times on WFMT 98.7. Chicago's Classical music and Jazz station. John has performed extensively in his home state of Florida in Jacksonville, Miami, and Tallahassee. He has won state, regional and national prizes in areas of solo piano, concerto, collaborative piano, and in composition.
Duly impressed with his gift of classical musicianship, St David’s Episcopal Church in Bean Blossom has invited him back down from Chicago to Brown County to give a full concert Dec 9th, 2012 at 7:00pm.
