“Siilikesed” in Estonian, “ezīši” in Latvian, “hedgehogs” in English, this Indianapolis-based Baltic ensemble includes musicians of Estonian, Latvian, and American origin. The Hedgehogs’ instrumentation consists of bagpipes, shepherd’s horn, accordion, and percussion, along with self-constructed instruments such as the kokle. At the Noon Concert/Lecture Series, the group will perform a variety of Baltic music, ranging from dance tunes to lilting melodies, in celebration of Latvian Independence Day.
Immediately after the performance, BAFSA (Baltic and Finnish Student Association) will host a reception with food and drink. Join us in the Hoagy Carmichael Room, No. 006.
