Gerrie Casey will discuss her collection, featured in the exhibit ¡Cuba SÃ! Posters from the Revolution: 1960s and 1970s. The posters were collected in Cuba during the 1970s, the "hey-day" of Cuban poster art, defined by militant politics and playful, divergent, exuberant, and often irreverent styles and formats--drawing upon earlier poster traditions from the Mexican and Russian Revolutions as well as 1960s psychedelic pop art. The exhibit and event are sponsored by CUBAmistad, and the lecture will be free and open to the public.
