The story of a fish out of water and the knight with whom she falls in love.

Based on the original Mermaid tale, Giraudouix’ Ondine tells the story of Hans, a knight-errant who has been sent off on a quest by his betrothed. In the forest he meets and falls in love with the water nymph Ondine, who is attracted to the world of mortal man. Their subsequent marriage of course is fraught with folly. At once a fairytale, both comic and enchanting, this romantic fantasy is considered to be one of Giraudouix finest work, where charming fable mingles with tragedy, for what good can come for two beings from different worlds?
Movement choreographed by Seline Carter, North Theatre Blackbox will be transformed into an underwater world for this fantastic production on November 8, 9, 10, 2012. Show begins at 7:30. There will be one special student priced matinee on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 2:00pm. Box Office opens one hour before show time.
Cast includes Matthew Waterman as Hans, Christina Dragnea as Ondine, Shailey Ostlund as Bertha, Grace Herndon as Eugenie, Thomas Reed as Auguste, Matthew Munroe as Lord Chamberlain, Nell Krahnke as the Illusionist, Hikari Nakagania as the Supervisor, Sophie Yates, Zoe McAfee, Ella Flynn as the Ondine with Mia Siffin, Alissa Wyle, Summer Adamson, David Davytan, Keenan Norris, , Chris Alexeev, Jordan Hannon, and Janice Day as members of the court.
