This workshop is experiential and uses creative exercises and discussion to connect themes from the participants' inner world to theoretical and conceptual approaches to pain and disability.
Topics include:
-the effects of expectation
-ever changing pain
-discomfort and reality
-pain vs. suffering
-personal strengths that help one deal with different types of pain
-boundaries, stereotypes and prejudices
-subjective perceptions
-finding meaning.
Ani Choekyi is an ordained tibetan Buddhist nun, a group therapist and student of cognitive science and psychology. She teaches and works in Israel and lives with a physical disability herself.
