"Tiksi" by photographer Evgenia Arbugaeva. The series documents a town in Siberia in which Arbugaeva lived until she was 8. It is photographed through the eyes of a young girl---before the town's economic distress drives residents to abandon it. Thus, something heartbreaking, like the death of Arbugaeva's childhood home, takes on moments of playful whimsy amidst the bittersweet beauty that she captures.
