Event

Lynn Dunbar (Louisville, KY) & Joel Knapp (Gallatin, TN) are the featured artists for the month of August at the Brown County Art Guild. The Guild is excited to present An Evening with Curtis Cantwell Jackson & Janiece Jaffe during the Second Saturday Village Art Walk on Saturday, August 12 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Located in downtown Nashville, the Brown County Art Guild is open Monday-Saturday 11:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 12:00-4:00 p.m.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Lynn Dunbar is known for her direct style and use of color. Some of her favorite subjects include river scenes, plein air (on location), aerials of the local landscape, local urban life and, of course, horses. She is honored to be the 2018 Kentucky Derby Poster Artist. Lynn has been a member of the Brown County Art Guild since 2011.

Joel Knapp is “a painter in motion,” restless to capture nature in all its moods and seasons. He is devoted to plein air painting because of its urgency and authenticity. He feels that the essence of a place may only be captured by the artist experiencing it directly. So, he may be found traveling in his camper with easel and paints deployed in front of mountains, rivers, and landscapes of all types, and in cities painting sidewalk cafes and cityscapes both by daylight and streetlight. Joel has been a member of the Brown County Art Guild since 2011.
